Brianne + Michael | Wedding in Oporto

August 30, 2011  |   0 comments

Well despite taking 4 Ryan Air flights to get there and back I must say it was so worth it for this gem of a wedding. I had not met Bri or Michael until the morning of the wedding and I pretty much knew straight away it was going to be a great day and I was not disappointed. I did have one small doubt however when the chocolate croissant strayed to close to the Vera Wang dress and resulted in what could have been a real bridezilla moment, but no, cool, calm and collected all was good, phew………

Bri and Michael both live in Toronto and the connection with Porto is with Michael who was born in the Azores so Oporto seemed like a logical place. After the preparation with the breathtaking views and misbehaving croissant it was off to a local church with the most amazing views over the river to the port houses and a really emotional ceremony. The real beauty of intimate destination weddings is that I do generally get a little more time with the couple and Bri and Michael were really keen to wander the streets of Oporto for a while and grab some creative portraits.

After a tour of Taylors Fladgate everyone enjoyed the spectacular views followed by some emotive speeches and a wonderful wedding dinner. A huge thanks to you both it was a real privilege to share this day with you and meet some of your family and friends. Just a few of my favourites.

Julia + Mitesh | Wedding in Kent

August 25, 2011  |   0 comments

They say there are few better places than the English countryside on a gorgeous summers day and I think they might be right. I was really privileged to be able to document a couple of days with Julia and Mitesh starting with a small mehndi the night before. It does obviously help when you are able to have a wedding in your back garden and Julia and Mitesh’s country retreat was the perfect place for the fabulous celebration.

After a wonderful ceremony on the lawn guests were treated to a really magnificent air show before diner in the marquee. The highlight of the entertainment was the surprise act of Signature you may recall them from Britain’s got talent a few years ago.

The day would of course not be complete without fireworks and of course they were plentiful, then it was back from more dancing and speeches. Thanks so much for letting us share the day with you and really hope you anjoy a few of my faves from the day. It was a great privilege to shoot with Mark Carey for the day and well worth a trip to his blog for some of his wonderful images.

Adam + Lia | Little Frigiliana Wedding

August 10, 2011  |   3 comments

I think the thing I love most about my job is the diversity, one minute I can be in a Cathedral with hundreds of people and the next in a tiny little village with a very cool couple called Adam and Lia. They contacted me way back to ask if I would work with them on their wedding and I was of course delighted to do something a little bit different. I did not meet Adam until about 10 minutes before the ceremony he was easy to spot not many guys wearing suits in Frigiliana at that time of day. The church in Frigiliana is one I have worked in a couple of times before and it was lovely to be part of such an intimate ceremony, I even got my photo taken by the priest signing the registrar, sadly not good enough to make the blog.

After the ceremony we had a little time to go for a wander through the streets and grab a few images. Many thanks guys for letting me share your little wedding with you and wish you both all the best for the future and hope you enjoy a few of my faves.

Natasha + Jamie | Nerja Wedding | Casa los Bates

August 8, 2011  |   0 comments

Natasha and Jamie and a great couple from Co. Cork and had the most wonderful intimate wedding for close family and friends at the stunning Casa los Bates near Granada. The ceremony took place in Nerja and after a slightly longer than usual journey to the venue everyone enjoyed, music, cocktails and canapes in the wonderful gardens. A sumptuous feast was then served followed but amazing fire-eaters by the pool and then dancing long into the night with Dj Ian Preston. A pleasure working with you Natasha and Jamie and really hope you enjoy a few of my faves.

Donna + Paul | Marbella Wedding

August 2, 2011  |   0 comments

The beginning of July saw the wedding of Donna and Paul at a new venue for me, the very pretty Fuerte Marbella in a beautiful setting right on the beach front. All the preparation took place in a room featuring a terrace that probably could have hosted the wedding with room to spare, with amazing views of the Med. The ceremony tool palce in the Old town of Marbella and despite being a little on the warm side everyone enjoyed a wonderful ceremony. After drinks outside the church everyone made their way back to the hotel for more drinks, canapes and wonderful entertainment and dining under the stars. Thanks to you all for making the day such a pleasure and really hope you enjoy a few of my favourites from the day.

A big thanks to:
Maxine and her amazing flowers
