Sarah + Anthony | Casa de los Bates | Wedding

August 17, 2012  |   3 comments

Several weeks back it was time to make the journey up the coast to the Granada region and the really lovely venue of Casa de los Bates . I had not met Sarah and Anthony prior to the wedding so it was great to finally meet them and family and friends who made me feel really welcome for the day.

Despite Sarah and Tony living in Abu Dhabi the day was hot by any standards and it was great to be able to use the cool shade of the garden of secrets for a lovely ceremony. Time for drinks! and canapes and it was up to the gardens of Los Bates before moving onto the front of the house for dinner and heartfelt speeches from close family and friends.

I have worked at Casa Los Bates several times but never documented a wedding that used the secret garden or the dancing area at the bottom of the property!  I must say it was a genius idea and Sarah certainly did use pretty much every inch of the property!

A great pleasure guys! Really hope you enjoy the images and can’t wait to get started on your album. A really big thanks to Moira the wedding planner for organising such a wonderful wedding.

Enri + Nery | Sitges Wedding

August 15, 2012  |   1 comment

June was a crazy month indeed this year with some incredible weddings and I was so lucky to be able to visit Sitges not once but twice in the space of a few days. Enri and Nery got in touch earlier in the year and despite having a wedding the day before on the Costa del Sol the travel was actually a breeze and after a hair raising drive from BCN airport I arrived with perfect timing.

Intimate, Simple,  and Romantic were the 3 words they used to describe the wedding and that is pretty much a perfect description. After all the prep at the Masia it was off down the long dusty road to Sitges and the breathtaking church.

After a lovely ceremony it was time for a few drinks in Sitges before heading back for first rate speeches and a feast prepared by Gillian. I think this was probably the first time I have stayed over a villa wedding and it was so cool to be able to jump into some shorts and injoy a couple of beers with such a cool couple and such a cool crowd.

Thanks again to you both it was a real treat to be part of such a special day. A big thanks to Elaine for her work in making such a great day possible and also Gillian and Pip whose food and decor were stunning.

enri moreno: It's been nearly 3 months since the wedding and I can't help but think of it every day. It was an enormous amount of fun being around amazing people in an extraordinary landscape. Everyone did a fantastic job of adding in to make the special day unforgettable. The images you've captured genuinely hold the true feeling of the country, the smells of the vineyard, and the unbelievable time we all had. You're a true artist, and a hell of a nice guy. It was a pleasure. ( August 28, 2012 3:51 am )

Claire + Steve | Hacienda San Jose | Wedding

August 7, 2012  |   0 comments

Claire and Steve got in touch way way back in February 2011 and after some wedding planner and venue tweaking the big day did arrive. I don’t often work at the same venue that often in a year but HSJ as it is known is one I have had the pleasure of being at several times this year and it never fails to disappoint.

All the prep took place at the venue followed by an emotional ceremony with the wonderful Lizzie Marriage on the lawn at the front of the house. Claire and Steve were shrewd enough to go with an early evening ceremony and it makes the difference, some nice light and comfortable for guests.

After cocktails in the wonderfully decorated courtyard it was time for dinner under the stars, great speeches and then inside for a “proper” disco! The photo booth was a big hit and they partied long into the night. The images should tell the rest of the story and of course a huge thanks to all the great vendors who made this wedding such a huge success.

Carla + Calvin | Puerto Banus Wedding

August 2, 2012  |   0 comments

Well the very first thing I thought when I saw this place was X-factor auditions! Front line beach Puerto Banus, you could just picture Mr Cowell breakage some hearts by the Picasso pool. What a venue for a fun, relaxed and unconventional wedding. Carla and Calvin wanted an imitate wedding and one big party and that is precisely what they got.

After a very moving ceremony from the wonderful Lizzie Marriage it was time to party! A splendid buffet by the oh so talented team from Fiesta Sol was followed by dancing round the pool amongst gazes through the wall from passers by on the paseo all probably thinking ” Wow that looks like a cool wedding” . Photobooth and candy bar were onsite for even more entertainment and they partied long and hard into the night.

Thanks so much for such a cool wedding guys , massive thanks to Heather and the team from FiestaSol Weddings!
