Some weddings remind you exactly why you fell in love with this work Layla and Ash’s wedding in Alicante was one of those. Without a doubt, it was one of the most extraordinary celebrations I’ve ever had the privilege of documenting (and that’s saying something).
Layla, with her Cuban warmth and vibrant spirit, and Ash, with his Ugandan roots and genuine charisma, brought two beautiful worlds together under the golden Spanish sun. Their wedding was a testament to what happens when families, friends, and traditions from all corners of the globe come together to create something truly unforgettable.
The celebrations began with an incredible sangeet night an explosion of music, dance and colour. Friends and family took to the floor with Bollywood beats and Ugandan rhythms, then were swept away by the passion of live flamenco — a nod to their Spanish setting and another layer in this tapestry of cultures. It set the tone perfectly for everything that followed.
The next day, Layla and Ash exchanged vows in a heartfelt Muslim nikkah ceremony, full of meaningful words and quiet moments. Later, they celebrated with a Western ceremony that wove in beautiful Indian traditions — a true reflection of their shared story and the families who shaped them.
And then… the party of all parties. The dance floor was never empty a swirl of Cuban salsa, Ugandan beats, Spanish flamenco spirit, and so much love. I still don’t know how everyone found the energy to keep dancing all night, but they did.
No celebration like this is complete without food worth remembering and @terrecatering more than delivered. Long tables overflowed with flavours that took guests on a journey around the world, while laughter and stories filled the warm Alicante night.
It’s always an honour to work alongside talented people who bring a day like this to life. Ruth and Nik were incredible to work with, as always — calm, kind, and utterly brilliant. Huge thanks as well to Jess and her amazing team, whose hard work behind the scenes made sure every detail was flawless.
