Teresa & Mat at Finca Monasterio

Some weddings shimmer with beauty, while others linger in the heart long after the last song fades. Teresa and Mat’s black-tie wedding at Finca Monasterio, near Sotogrande in southern Spain, was one of those rare celebrations that seemed to exist outside of time refined, romantic, and filled with soul. Meticulously planned by Jess and her incredible team at White Wedding Days, every moment was curated with care, from the soft Andalusian sunlight to the final spark of the night under moonlit skies. Nestled among olive groves and whitewashed courtyards, Finca Monasterio is one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in Sotogrande. Once a monastery and now a beautifully restored boutique hotel, it carries a sense of old-world charm and understated luxury. Its terracotta rooftops, arched walkways, and peaceful gardens made the perfect setting for a destination wedding in Spain .

Teresa, a former Olympic swimmer, carried herself with the grace and poise that only years of dedication can bring. She chose a sleek, sculptural gown that was the definition of modern minimalism, refined, elegant, and quietly powerful. Her look was completed with delicate diamonds and classic heels, a portrait of effortless sophistication. Mat, a photographer himself, was equally striking in his perfectly tailored tuxedo. There’s something about black tie that elevates everything; it sets the tone for a day that feels like a true occasion. Together they were radiant, stylish, grounded, and completely in love. The ceremony unfolded beneath the olive trees. Guests gathered in the courtyard as Teresa made her entrance, her smile lighting up the space. The vows were deeply personal , tender, funny, and heartfelt,  the kind that make everyone present feel part of something. When they were finally pronounced husband and wife, the air filled with cheers, applause.

As the day melted into evening, the atmosphere shifted from romantic to magical. Under strings of fairy lights and a canopy of stars, guests sat down to a feast that celebrated the very best of Spanish cuisine. Plates of local delicacies, fine wines, and laughter filled conversation flowed freely. Each course lingered, just as the warm evening air did  unhurried, indulgent, and full of joy. And then came the celebration.  champagne glasses raised high. It was black-tie glamour at its most joyful  elegant yet uninhibited, timeless yet completely in the moment. The energy was electric., Every detail of the day reflected Jess’s artistry and precision. The design was beautifully cohesive — soft neutral tones, gold accents, modern florals, and candlelight layered to perfection. From the flow of the day to the finishing touches on the tables, White Wedding Days created an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and relaxed, where guests could simply be present and savour it all.

Photographing Teresa and Mat’s wedding was more than an honour it was a joy. Knowing Mat as a fellow photographer made it even more special; he understands how fleeting yet powerful a single frame can be. Their connection was a dream to capture, unguarded, genuine, and filled with laughter. They share that rare kind of love that feels both effortless and deep, built on friendship, creativity, and quiet devotion. As the night drew on and the last song played, the courtyard was still glowing,  from candles, from laughter, from the lingering warmth of a perfect day. Teresa and Mat’s wedding was more than a celebration; it was an experience, a beautiful reflection of who they are, surrounded by love, captured in light, and remembered forever.
