The Parador in Granada is without doubt one of the most spectacular wedding venues around, the backdrop of the Alhambra is still one of my favourite places to document a wedding. I was very fortunate to be asked to document the wedding of Anna and Chris in September.
I have documented alot of weddings in Granada and opportunity to take photos in the grounds of the Alhambra. The Parador is situated within the grounds of the Alhambra and was the perfect pace for al the pre wedding preparation overseen by the super talented Ella Megan.
The Parador is unique not only in the fact it is situated within the grounds of such special place, but it also has its own on site chapel, a breathtaking spot for any wedding. The time I ever visited the Parador many years ago was with Padre Peter so it was great to have him conducting the beautiful ceremony of Anna and Chris. Guests enjoyed a beautiful ceremony before enjoying some Spanish guitar in the courtyard.
Whilst guests were enjoying refreshing cocktails Anna quickly donned her sneakers and we made out way out of the Parador for some portraits around the beautiful grounds of the Alhambra, we were so lucky to find the Palacio Carlos V virtually empty and after a very quick 10 minute photoshoot we were then told they were closing, luckily were were finished so our timing really could not have been more perfect, getting to shoot in the Alhambra is great, having virtually no people around is perfect.
We made it back to the Parador with plenty of time for Anna and Chris to enjoy some cocktails and even listen to one of Anna and Chris’s talented friends sing which was a lovely moment. The views from the terrace for dinner at the Parador are really something else, guests enjoyed a beautiful dinner and some heartfelt speeches before a little bit of impromptu dancing. Wedding days don’t get much better than this.
