Well, eight weeks ago to the day (Dani can probably tell you how many hours and seconds that is) I had the great pleasure of making the trip to Mojacar once again to work with the lovely Stacy! And the cool young couple of entrepreneurs, Dani and Sean from Dublin.
Exceptional wedding photography was high on Dani’s list for her wedding and I always love a trip to Mojacar and the chance to work with Stacy. Mojacar Pueblo sits high up, and all of the bridal preparation took place at the highest point, with unbelievable views from El Mirador de Castillo. It seems hard to imagine the fierce battles that took place here in the 1400’s between the Moors and the Christians, I needed oxygen just walking up the hill from the taxi! Thankfully the only battles to overcome today were hair, makeup and getting to the church square on time, in high heels.
The preparation scene was the usual organised chaos, which I love! People getting dressed inside wardrobes, children drawing, DIY flower arranging, everywhere something going on. And all with amazing views. Thankfully being at the highest point in the village meant the walk to the church was downhill! And we all made our way across the Pueblo to cheers and whistles and Dani and her entourage made the way to the square next to the church.
This spot was not a random wedding venue by any means. Sean proposed to Dani in Plaza de Partere in the very spot where they were to be married, which really added to this very poignant and emotional ceremony. It was also to be Jean’s, the celebrants, last wedding before she headed back to the UK (thanks Jean).
After drinks in the square it was time for a total change of scenery and a trip to the beach, and what a stunning beach location it was. Beautifully decorated by Stacy and her team, it was just one of those venues that looked beachy, and a perfect fit for Dani & Sean. After cocktails it was time for a wonderful dinner, a great set of speeches and of course a fabulous cake before the party really started!
I had never met Errol and Carlene “Queenbrit” Graham before, but I really hope to again. Wow, talk about some voices. They certainly got everyone in the mood for dancing under the stars by the beach! Sounds idyllic doesn’t it? Well, it was and a real privilege to document it all for you both.
