Christina + Adam | Finca Son Bosch | Mallorca Wedding

September 24, 2012  |   2 comments

Well it seems like an eternity ago but back in June during a pretty insane few days to and from Barcelona via Mallorca I was really thrilled to be back in Mallorca for the wedding of Christina and Adam. Based on my previous trips to this stunning island it would be fair to say that Mallorca and Germany seem to share a strong bond and non stronger than Christina and Adam. Christina being from Germany and Adam from Barcelona and they now live in Geneva. So as for languages on the day it was an interesting mix of Catalan, German, English, Castellano and Mallorqui, bust rest assured everyone got on famously.

Like so many of my clients most of the pre wedding is dealt with via, email, and skype so it was great to get to Palma and join them for a few hours of welcome cocktails the evening prior to the wedding. The following day it was off to one of the many stunning rural hotels in Mallorca for all the preparation. Events got off to a slightly amusing start as Christina’s father mistook me for a guest taking a few images of  his speech and thankfully decided not to throw me out by my ear. The preparation had lots of lovely litle quirks including the amazing creations of Christina and Adam made entirely from 50e notes! kind of origami but a more frustrating version I would imagine, especially when you have not cash handy. The Catalan tradition of the best man presenting the bride with a gift and a speech is something I really wish would catch on, it is a great moment and never fails to provide some lovely emotion ( and a new Galaxy Tab ) and having so many close family present from several generations was very special.

After a few hours of preparation and great tunes from Christina’s iPod! it was time to make the journey across the island to the fabulous venue of Finca Son Bosch, I had only seen images prior to arriving and it was indeed an inspiring venue. The ceremony took place in the courtyard covered in vines and had all pretty much everyone with a tear in their eye.

Christina and Adam were not into a formal affair and dinner was in a rustic setting where everyone was served platters of incredible food one really only sees in Mallorca and Barcelona. After some excellent speeches ( my early Fathers speech preview gave me little insight ) it was time for the band and some proper good dancing! Anyone who might have ever made the assumption that our German friends can be quiet at times would be very mistaken, they can seriously party! After the band it was on the move again! to the courtyard for drinks and one of the quirkiest little disco’s your every likely to see.

What a great couple of days! I really hope you enjoyd the images and look forward to desinging your albums, and might see you in Madrid for Jason Mraz!

Big thanks to the very talented team from Moments  and the stunning venue of Finca Son Bosch.

Olga + Tino | Mallorca Wedding

April 25, 2012  |   1 comment

Well here we go for 2012! And what a great way to start with the wedding of Olga and Tino. Olga contacted me pretty late in the planning stages and actually booked when we were in Udaipur ( India ) of all places. No less than three days back from India it was off to one of my most favourite places the stunning island of Mallorca, if you haven’t been then trust me you should go it really is a magical island.

The wedding itself was a full on day! with two ceremonies in one day, the first one in the registry office in Palma followed by a civil ceremony at the S’olivaret a very pretty venue.  After the ceremony it was time for drinks and canopies before dinner and plenty of speeches and dancing.

A big thanks to you all for making it such a memorable day! Really hope you enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day.

Alid + Vip | Soller | Mallorca Wedding

July 15, 2011  |   1 comment

Well what can I say about this wedding other than I hope the images speak for themselves but it must rank amongst one of my favourite weddings for many reasons. Alid and Vip are a charming couple who reside in Singapore and who extensively travel the world with work. I have been fortunate enough to document several other photographers weddings in the past and shooting for another photographer is always a great privilege, Vip is serioulsy talented photographer himself so please take a second to check out his website hopefully he will be sharing some of his work from their epic honeymoon to the Galapagos and South America, 5 countries, 10 cities, 16 flights or something like that.

If you have never been to Mallorca then my advise would be to go! it is simply one of the most breathtalking islands anywhere in the world and Alid and Vip found an amazing venue hidden away near Soller Cas’Hereu a mixture of traditional architecture and stunning interior design.

The events started on the Wednesday with dinner at Ben’s Davall which offers breathtaking views of the med. The wedding itself had a little bit of everything a mixture of Sri Lankan culture and I think you get a pretty idea of the emotion when the minister starts to shed a tear half way through the ceremony. I must mention a couple real stars of the show and those are Alid’s grandmothers, her grandparents were the very first German tourists to ever arrive in Mallorca on an old propeller plane in the 50′s and whilst her grandfather could not be there to share this special day it was amazing to have these two wonderful ladies present for the wedding and I think everytime I see images of them I have to reach for the tissues.

After the ceremony everyone relaxed and enjoyed cocktails and took lots of pictures!, photographers do tend to have lots of photographer friends, I don’t think I have ever seen so many cameras at a wedding although I think Sharmi had enough equipment to cover most things. The speeches that followed I will never forget, the emotion really was something else, the people, the setting, it all really was something to be cherished.

Well enough from me and just time to say an enormous thanks to Alid and Vip and their family and friends for such an incredible 2 day wedding one I will never forget. If you have a few minutes I would really encourage you to take a peek at the 2 day wedding slideshow . Last but not least it was fantastic to meet up with Lourdes and Gabina from M-Moments weddings these ladies are amazing at what they do, thanks ladies.

After the excitement of Natasha and David’s wedding it was time to make the eagerly awaited trip to Mallorca for the wedding of Claire and Ollie, we have been in touch for over a year and met near London earlier in the year, it is always so exciting to travel to new venues and Finca Comasema is a very special place. I am afraid there is no link to this hidden gem but a look at the slideshow will give you a good idea.

Everything about this wedding was breathtaking, a really big thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome, and hope you enjoy of few of my faves and the slideshow above.
